We’re so very excited to share with you the location of the new Raw Milk Retreats headquarters, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland! Often overlooked as a destination, this part of the country really has it all- dramatic coastline, sandy beaches, rolling hills, cows, whisky, and plenty of pubs! We’ll be spending the week in an impeccably renovated and restored Georgian country house, and exploring different parts of the region each day- a farmhouse cheesemaker, the first modern fully woodfired distillery, the only lowland distillery producing peated whisky, sustainable flower growers and designers, jewelry makers, traditional smokehouses, foraging excursions, and Belted Galloway cows, which rival the Highlands for the cutest breed. Oh, and castles!

We’re also thrilled to be joined again by Kayla DeVito, of Amidst the Alders, who will be teaching painting workshops through the week. After the smashing success of her Cotswolds workshops, it’s exciting to see what all you artists, both new and veteran, will create under her tutelage.

September 15 - 22

In addition to looking like an absolute fairy tale location, South Tyrol, or Alto Adige, is the home to fantastic wine producers using ancient and little known grapes, farmers caring for cows using ancient methods of agriculture, and cheesemakers making some of the most delicious cheese in the world. Bordering Switzerland, Lichtenstein, and Austria, Alto Adige has a decidedly alpine feel to it. We’ll be visiting during the time of the transhumance festivals, when villages celebrate the cows moving back down to the valleys from the mountain grazing field of the summer. Everyone loves cows in flower crowns!

Aidan Lehrer, resident fly fishing guide will be leading optional fishing excursions to the alpine streams and rivers of the region, fishing primarily for trout and greyling. No previous experience necessary, Aidan can tailor the excursion to any level. Bring your own equipment or use some of his. All our activities on Raw Milk Retreats are optional- you pick what appeals to you!

We’ll be staying in a traditional style alpine chateau, rooms are available to book as single or double occupancy.

December 7 - 14, 2024

Join us on a pre-holidays excursion to Budapest! An ancient city filled with history, lovely Christmas markets, and tokaj! The perfect time of year to visit a magical place steeped in old tradition and charm, and to finish the last of your holiday gift shopping. We’ll be staying in a townhouse, near the banks of the Danube River. Our days will be filled with wineries, markets, producers of traditional handcrafts, thermal baths in winter, and absolutely delectable food. We’ll be taking the train for an overnight in Vienna, Austria as well! Budapest and Vienna have two of the best Christmas Markets in the world, so if cozy vibes and warming drinks are your thing, this is definitely the trip for you!
