Loire Valley, France
25 May - 1 June, 2025
We're thrilled to be collaborating with Booth Hardy from Barrel Thief Wine & Provisions in Richmond, VA, to provide you with this week-long exploration of the Loire Valley region of France. We'll be visiting a different wine producer each day, as well as experiencing the region through other makers, doers, artists, and farmers.
Enjoy a tarte tatin at the restaurant that invented it, spend time on a goat farm learning to make cheese, visit a mushroom farm dozens of meters below ground, and of course visit the abundance of chateaux that make this region a UNESCO heritage site.
We'll be starting our week in Sancerre, a small but charming medieval village, surrounded by lush vineyards producing the idiosyncratic sauvignon blanc and pinot noir that we love so much. The balance of the week will be spent just outside Tours, in a lovely chateau. We'll taste wine in their underground cellar, and experience the best of the Touraine, including an optional Michelin starred dinner.
